Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a system of medicine dating back over 2,000 years with the first written work; the Huang Di Nei Jing (“Cannon of Medicine”) compiled 200 to 100 BC. Central to the basic knowledge of TCM are key fundamental theories that incorporate natural elements and the laws of interdependent balance within nature, allowing for an holistic view of the individual as part of an interconnected pattern of relationships within the body and with the world outside the body. The main treatment modalities in TCM are acupuncture and moxabustion as well as an extensive pharmacopoeia of herbal medicine, all three of which have been and continue to be proven highly effective under scientific study in the treatment of disease.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the use of very thin needles placed less than 1mm into the epidermal layer of the skin to stimulate the flow of the body’s vital energy, or Qi (Chi) along the body’s “meridians”. Acupuncture meridians in TCM serve as pathways of vital energy which when blocked due to imbalances within the system, can cause illness, pain, and other degenerative conditions. The placing of acupuncture needles at various key acupuncture points along these meridians for a short period of time can relieve these blockages and stimulate a more harmonious flow of the body’s vital energy, thereby allowing the body’s innate healing mechanisms to flourish.

Moxabustion
Moxabustion is the heating of Moxa herb (Mugwort) at various key acupuncture points to bring warmth and stimulate circulation and the movement of vital energy through an afflicted area.

Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a practice in which various gentle manipulations of the musculo-skeletal system are performed by a Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) to promote re-balancing and regeneration of the body’s entire systems. It is also effective in providing relief from chronic and acute musculo-skeletal pains and injuries.
Because their medical degree and license is legally recognized as the equivalent of a M.D. in the United States, D.O.s can utilize all recognized diagnostic and therapeutic methods in their practice.

Jin Shin Jyitsu
Originating in Japan, Jin Shin Jyitsu is a non-massage form of shiatsu that uses 26 “pressure points” termed “Energy Locks” located throughout the surface of the body. According to theory, fatigue, tension or illness can trap the body’s vital energy in these energy locks and create imbalances within the individual. The practitioner of Jin Shin Jitsu stimulates these specific points with gentle touch and movement of her hands over various areas of the body to harmonize the natural flow of vital energy. The result is blissful relaxation and rejuvenation of the body’s vital energy.

Infrared Heat Therapy
Infrared heat therapy uses infrared lamps and heaters as well as infrared saunas to boost immune function, relieve pain, and increase circulation throughout the body. Infrared saunas are also commonly used in conjunction with other therapies in cleansing and detoxification of the body.

Electro-Lymphatic Treatments:
Any detoxification process must include stimulation of the lymphatic drainage system. Within the body, the lymphatic system is responsible for the removal of toxic substances in the blood and tissue. Chronic illnesses and conditions can often be traced back to build up of toxins within the body, a sign that the lymphatic system may be blocked. We use a specific device to stimulate the lymphatic system by applying very minute electrical impulses to stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid and break down toxins, making them easy for the lymphatic system to remove.

Herbal and Nutritional Therapy
The use of herbal and nutritional medicine is steadily becoming one of the most commonly used forms of medicine in the western world due to the relative safety and widespread efficacy of using natural herbs and supplements compared with many pharmaceutical compounds. As herbal and nutritional therapy gain mainstream recognition and acceptance due to ongoing scientific study, more and more people are saying what the scientific community is confirming: It Works!

Intravenous Therapy
Intravenous therapy delivers nutrients, mineral and anti oxidants through the veins into the system, bypassing the digestive tract and the liver. Intravenous therapy can be of great importance For patients with impaired digestion, chronic ailments or heavy toxic load.
